Kuala Lumpur International Fixed Gear Tournament 2011 will be held at the Cheras Velodrom Stadium, Kuala Lumpur. As an organizer, we are suggesting the hotels listed that have agreed to give a special rate to the participants. The hotels are near the Cheras Velodrom Stadium. OVERVIEW

The “fixed gear” bicycle is the oldest and simplest type of bicycle. It is a single-speed bike without a freewheel; that is, whenever the bike is in motion, the pedals will go around.

Many enthusiastic and passionate cyclists ride fixed gear bicycles by choice. Many regards it is special as there is a mystical connection between the cyclist and bicycle as it feels like an extension of the body to a greater extent than does a fully equipped riding machine. For many enthusiastic cyclists who look out for physical and creative challenges and at the same time fun, they indulge in this unique and trendy sport.

It is also apparent that the fixed gear bicycles are becoming popular among the Malaysian youth and the interest is growing.

Hence, DAME Events and Communications Sdn. Bhd., GRAFA and YellowBikeCompany are combining efforts to organize the 1st KL International Fixed Gear Tournament 2011 to elevate the standards of this sports for the benefit of our youth to build a healthy young generation in years to come. It is also to help this industry to progress from a typical hobby to becoming a more commercially known industry particularly among the youth.
